Ride WeGo for Free
Vanderbilt faculty, staff,听students听and postdoctoral scholars can ride听 free of charge using a Vanderbilt-registered听听app or physical card.听
The university transit benefit includes:听
- WeGo听local and regional buses听听
- WeGo听Star commuter rail听听
- WeGo听Access paratransit services for eligible riders听听
Free rides are available anytime and anywhere on the WeGo system. A Vanderbilt-registered听QuickTicket听app or card is听required听for free rides.听
Get started with WeGo
Step 1: Check for your QuickTicket registration code
- New Vanderbilt faculty, staff and students eligible for the WeGo Ride Program automatically receive a registration code by email during onboarding.
- Search your Vanderbilt inbox for an email from noreply-quickticket@nashville.gov with the subject line: "Congratulations! You've been approved for the WeGo Ride Program"
- The email contains your unique registration code, which is required to activate your transit benefit.
Step 2: Create your QuickTicket account
- Download the QuickTicket by WeGo app.
- Create an account and verify your email address.
Step 3: Activate your Vanderbilt transit benefit
If you are unable to find the email after searching, contact Parking and Commuter Services at parking@vanderbilt.edu for assistance.
More than 15 WeGo bus stops are located around campus, offering convenient access to destinations across Nashville.
Popular destinations include:
- Downtown Nashville and Broadway
- BNA Airport
- Green Hills and Hillsboro Village
- The Gulch
- Nashville Fairgrounds / GEODIS Park
- Grocery stores, internships and neighborhood destinations
Real-time transit information is available through:
- WeGo Public Transit

WeGo Access and Access on Demand paratransit services are available free of charge for eligible Vanderbilt faculty, staff and students with qualifying temporary or permanent disabilities.
Commute Incentive
Daily parking program participants who take non-single occupancy vehicle commutes to campus will earn a $1 daily听incentive听each time they choose a walk, bike, carpool/vanpool, bus or train commute up to a total of $20 per month, assuming a 20-day work month.听听听
Ridehail 鈥� Lyft partnership
Vanderbilt partners with Lyft to听provide听a transportation option for official university-sponsored travel.听
Departments and university programs may use Lyft for transportation needs such as:听
- Student programs听听
- Event transportation听听
- Guest and visitor transportation听听
- Backup transportation when other options are unavailable听听
Transportation is managed through Vanderbilt-approved Lyft programs that include centralized billing, safety听requirements听and ride parameters.听
Examples of supported transportation include student programming, visiting speakers, off-campus听appointments听and university-sponsored events.听
For Departments and Program Leaders听
Departments may听establish听Lyft ride programs through the Vanderbilt Lyft dashboard using:听
- Lyft Pass Codes听for one-time or event transportation听听
- Lyft Credits听for recurring transportation needs听听
- Lyft Concierge Rides听for guests or riders without a Lyft account听听
Program administrators听are required to听complete university training before creating rides or transportation programs.听
Student Transportation Support听
The Lyft听Ridehail听Partnership is designed for university-sponsored transportation and is not intended for personal student travel or internship commuting.听
Students seeking transportation听assistance听for internships, career development or unpaid opportunities may explore support through the Career Center.听

Guaranteed Ride Home
A backup plan when you need it听听
The听Guaranteed Ride Home听program provides eligible sustainable commuters with a free Lyft ride home听in the event of听an emergency or unexpected circumstance.听
The program is designed to support faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, graduate听students听and professional students who commute sustainably and听participate听in Vanderbilt鈥檚 Daily Parking Program.听
Eligible sustainable commute options include:听
- Walking听
- Biking听
- Carpooling听
- Bus or commuter rail听
- Vanpooling听听
How it works听
Eligible users may receive up to听six free rides per year, including:听
- Up to three rides from July 1鈥揇ecember 31听听
- Up to three rides from听January 1鈥揓une 30听听
To qualify, participants must:听
- Be enrolled in the Daily Parking Program听
- Have a MoveVU Commute Hub account and Lyft account听听
- Complete the required waiver at least 48 hours before first use听听
- Log a sustainable commute in the Commute Calendar that same day听
- Begin the ride from campus听听
Covered situations听
Guaranteed Ride Home may be used for:听
- Family emergencies听听
- Illness or injury听听
- Missed carpools or vanpools听听
- Unexpected overtime听听
Not covered听
The program does not cover:听
- Travel from home to campus听听
- Planned appointments听听
- Personal errands听听
- Business-related travel听听
- Transit service disruptions听听
- Medical emergencies requiring 911 services听听
