Associate Provost for Undergraduate Research
Kathy received her BA from Carleton College in Northfield, MN and her PhD from the Genetics Department at the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ of Washington. After postdoctoral studies with Dr. Tom Cech at the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ of Colorado in Boulder, Kathy started her lab in the Biological Sciences department at Vanderbilt äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ where she serves as Vice Chair. Kathy is passionate about helping all interested students engage in research through her role as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Research.
Senior Program Coordinator
Kathleen earned her BA from Monmouth College and a PhD from Wake Forest äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾, where she studied grassland ecology in Dr. Michael Anderson's lab. She then completed a postdoctoral position at Michigan State äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ before working as a research scientist for the US Forest Service. Kathleen's research has been largely field-based, including field sites in East Africa, the Upper Midwest, the Intermountain West, and the Southeastern Coastal Plain. She loves working with Vanderbilt undergrads, learning about their impressive research projects, and seeing them succeed.
