Off-Campus Living and Prohibited Properties

When Vanderbilt receives notice of a landlord whose practices are violating local law and/or endangering the safety and well-being of student tenants or neighbors, Vanderbilt reserves the option of denying undergraduate students the privilege of living off campus at properties owned by such landlords. When student behavior at an off-campus residence does not meet the Good Neighbor Guidelines and cause ongoing disruption to the neighboring community over a significant period of time despite intervention via the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBվ’s accountability process, a property may be placed on the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBվ’s Prohibited Properties list.Ìý

If an undergraduate student living in an off-campus residence is found by the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ to be in violation of the "" or is adversely affecting the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾'s relationship with the neighboring community, all Vanderbilt students who are residents may be subject to the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBվ’s accountability process, even though a specific individual responsible for the conduct cannot be identified. Undergraduate students found to be living at a Prohibited Property may face enhanced disciplinary sanctions.
