Full Description

We're seeking an intrinsically motivated and highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our laboratory focused on how oxidative stress modifies epithelial and immune cell interactions in esophageal inflammation and cancer. Dr. Yash Choksi's laboratory, located in Nashville, Tennessee at Vanderbilt äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Medical Center, is federally funded and has a variety of translational and basic research projects utilizing patient samples, mouse models, and three-dimensional cell cultures. As the Choksi lab includes physician-scientists, basic scientists, and other trainees at different career stages, this position offers an excellent opportunity to learn from experts in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, execute, and analyze experiments related to eosinophilic esophagitis, esophageal cancer, and esophageal biology
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Train and mentor undergraduate students and research assistants
- Develop, optimize, and document experimental protocols

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biomedical sciences with 0-2 years of post-graduate experience
- Willingness and ability to work with mice
- Extensive experience with cell culture and/or animal models
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills
- Exceptional documentation and organization skills
- Collaborative and cooperative mindset for team-based science
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with gastrointestinal research
- Experience with organoid cultures and/or flow cytometry
- Proficiency in analysis and interpretation of -omics data
