As director of the MAGNUM Group and architect of Vanderbilt's #1-ranked online MS in Computer Science program, Dr. White combines deep expertise in cyber-security and mobile/cloud computing with proven innovation skills. His research has earned multiple Best Paper Awards, an NSF CAREER Award, and significant industry recognition, including honors at CES and SXSW. With over 160 published papers and $12 million raised in venture backing, he offers unique insights into both the technical and practical applications of AI across healthcare and manufacturing domains.
, faculty director of Vanderbilt's data science minor and senior data scientist at the Data Science Institute, specializes in bridging disciplines through data science innovation. A triple Vanderbilt graduate in electrical engineering, her research developed novel algorithms for analyzing brain behavior through fMRI. As a leader in interdisciplinary collaboration, she guides teams of faculty, staff, and students in applying data science tools to diverse research challenges, while championing data science education and innovation across the university community.

As a Computer Science Professor in Practice and former Beckman Fellow, Dr. Spencer-Smith leads collaborative research initiatives while teaching AI courses, fostering an environment where data science innovation meets practical application.
