PhD students entering with a prior MS in Biostatistics may be able to transfer graduate credit with Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) approval. Our program allows a maximum of 6 transfer credits toward elective course requirements. For incoming PhD students who pass comprehensive exams at the PhD level prior to matriculation, our program allows a maximum of 16 transfer credits toward core course requirements. Transfer of credits to the Vanderbilt record requires a brief written justification to the DGS at the time the program of studies is planned (these requests should generally be completed before the end of the first semester of enrollment for the purposes of timely planning). The Graduate Transfer Credit Request form must be completed in Kuali (Vanderbilt's enrollment management system).
