Andrew Steiner

Interdisciplinary Materials Science

Overview

Andrew Steiner is a Ph.D. student in the Interdisciplinary Materials Science program here at Vanderbilt. He is deeply interested in the chemistry and physics that occur at the nanoscale, with a broad background in battery science, industry-scale electrodeposition, and optical materials, that allows him to bring a unique perspective to instruction. His deep passion for communicating nanoscience inspired him to join NanoGuides, where he helps unravel the mechanisms responsible for the behavior of macroscopic materials. Andrew is also currently a VINSE TA, leading undergraduate students in cleanroom labs where he teaches them the "how-to's" of nanoscale engineering and the science behind it in microfluidic, electronic, and other nanoscale devices.
