Uploading and viewing files in Content

The Content page is the most used page in any course. This is often because Instructors upload various files for students to read and review. If you have files you need to upload to a course, you can follow the steps below to add them to your course.

To upload files to your course, navigate to your course's Content page, and select the unit/module where you want to upload a file. From there, following the steps below depending on what Content view your course is using.

Drag and Drop files directly into your course

Regardless of what Content experience your course is using, Instructors can drag and drop files directly onto their Content page in order to quickly upload files. This can be done with individual or multiple files.听

  1. In the New Content Experience, drag and drop your file(s) to the left Table of Contents sidebar. Files will be uploaded to whatever Unit you have selected.
  2. In the Classic Content view, select your module, and drag and drop your file to where you want it listed in your module. Files will be uploaded to the exact location you select. You'll see a blue line showing where it will be listed when uploaded.听

Uploading files in the New Content Experience

  1. Click Add Existing to upload a file
  2. Either drag and drop a file into the highlighted area, or click Browse to search for a file on your device
  3. Once the file is uploaded, you can click on it from the left side in order to view the file

Uploading files in Classic Content

  1. Click Upload/Create
  2. Click Upload Files
  3. Click My Computer to select from files on your device
  4. Either click Upload to search and find your file, or drag your file to the area highlighted with the dashed line
  5. Once you have the file uploaded, click Add to add it to your Content module
  6. Once your file is uploaded, you can click on it to view it in a preview within Brightspace
