Brightspace Content is Getting Upgraded

Beginning with the Fall 2027 semester, Brightspace courses will begin using the New Content Experience by default. Additionally, Instructors now have the ability to enable or disable the New Content Experience in their own courses ahead of the change in Fall 2027. For more information about this transition, see our New Content Experience Transition page.

In the Content tab, you can rearrange your course content by dragging and dropping modules using their drag handle.

Updated Summer 2026

Moving Units and Pages in the New Content Experience

  1. Instructors and other course builders can rearrange items in the New Content Experience by clicking the dots to the left of the item title.
  2. When dragging this item, a line will appear wherever you can drop it. In the below screenshot, the line indicates that the Reading link will be placed between the two other Content items.
  3. Once you have the item reordered how you like it, simply release your mouse to drop it into place.

Move Modules and Sub-modules in Classic Content

  1. Drag a module or sub-module by clicking on the dots to the left of the title. You’ll notice that when you hover over these dots, your cursor becomes crosshairs.
  2. While you are dragging the module, you’ll see a line appear where you can drop it. In this example, the module will be placed above the Week 1 sub-module.
